Freaky Friday

I know that it is Thursday, but what the hell...I couldn't wait until tomorrow for my Friday rant.

**MICHAEL JACKSON**

I was hanging out on my porch listening to WEEI sports radio when the announcer said, "According to TMZ, Michael Jackson is dead."
My jaw dropped... Is he kidding?? Shocker, shocker!

In the past few years, MJ, I will admit was really creepy/weird, but as a child of the '80s he was a HUGE icon to me (and Madonna too). I still listen to his music today, ie. Thriller and Billy Jean. Good bye MJ! Dead at 50.

Although, I have conspiracy theories...
Perhaps, MJ is now chilling in Tahiti with Elvis and Tu Pac? Something to think about...
(Anything is possible, right?)

**FARRAH FAWCETT**

What a beautiful woman! One of Charlie's Angel is in heaven.
I was so oblivious.
I knew that she had cancer, but I did not know that she was on her death bed.
RIP Farrah! Dead at 62.

**ED MCMAHON**
Ed McMahon, Johnny Carson's Tonight Show sidekick, dies aged 86
Known as Johnny Carson's side kick (Heeeeeeeeeeeeere's Johnny!), Ed died at the age of 86.
Without him, we wouldn't have had Star Search
or those great American Family Publishers (not Publishers Clearing House)
commercials where he'd hand out large checks to surprised winners.
Fun Fact: He was raised in Lowell, Mass.

Ok. I am DONE talking about death. Here is some lighter subject matter:

**Stoned Wallabies responsible for Crop Circles?**
Image: A red neck wallaby

Ummmm, what?!?! Apparently, Wallabies in Tasmania are getting "strung out" on opium by munching on the poppy fields crops. They hop around in circles, creating crop circles.
You know, the ones Aliens are usually blamed for?
(This story was brought to my attention from my pal Heather via her uncle.)

**Dumbledore had a baby!**
Well at least the 68 year old actor who plays him (Sir Michael Gambon) and 43 year old set designer Philippa Hart did.

But wait...I haven't gotten to the really weird part...

This is the second child for the "couple" as they already have a two year old.

But wait, there's more...

It seems Dumbledore, I mean Sir Gambon, has a wife (Lady Gambon) to whom he has been married to for 45 years. The wife knows ALL about this 2nd relationship and is cool with it. Apparently, he splits his time between them.... Wow!

**Jon + Kate = Divorce**
It is official. Jon and Kate are calling it quits. May they get peace they deserve to move on with their lives. I will hold out hope that they will reconcile...

That's it for this week. Hopefully we'll have some better stuff happening next week.

PS - 22 days until HP 6!

YOGA - Class #4

Yoga class kicked my sorry ass today. Instead of my nice normal instructor, today I got the Yoga Drill Sgt. She wasn't mean, but boy - are my legs and hips feeling like Jello. I sweated like nothing else. Gross! LOL. So here's what I learned tonight:

The Dolphin Pose:

And the Big Toes Pose:

I am totally going to work for Cirque Du Soleil someday with all these moves I am learning!

Freaky Friday

Hey there! It is Friday! You know the drill. Here we go!

If you live on the south shore as Mass., you must know about the missing man in Hingham, right? What a weird story! So I was at work the other day (I work in Norwell). Me and my work roomie kept hearing these low flying helicopters. At first, we were like, "It must be the coast guard or army doing a drill." The choppers kept passing over building and finally, we had enough! We NEEDED to know what the heck was going on. So we took a closer look and as it turns out, they are actually news crews, several of them. "Well," we thought, "There HAS to be something cool happening." So my roomie hops on her computer and goes to Fox 25. She found a live feed of what the helicopter was looking at. It was a bunch of men on a speed boat  looking in the water.
Hingham Body Search
So after sometime, we find out that they were looking for an elderly man. They have no clue who he is. The only clue that he left was his St. Bernard dog. Apparently, this old man used to walk his dog near Chilli's Restaurant every morning around 7 a.m. The dog was found wandering around wet and with its leash dragging. The police took the dog down to the pond, where dog showed interest. The weird thing is, as I have already stated, no one knows who this man is or if he is actually missing. It's such a weird, creepy case.

So, Jon and Kate have a BIG announcement, eh? Will it be about getting a divorce? Are they going to get back together? I think that they will reveal that this is their last season. I actually hope that they will stay together, they seemed so much in love during seasons of the past. I personally hope that they patch things up and move on.

But alas, they will probably end up in divorce court. Too bad...

In wedding news, did you hear about the Chicago couple that got Swine Flu and wore surgical masks and latex gloves to their own wedding?

This is totally taking "for sicker or poorer" to a whole new level!!

And finally! Old Navy is having $2 tank tops tomorrow am!! Who's coming with me? Yes, I am crazy, but I WILL be there. And yes, the supermodelquins are freaky.

PS - There are 26 Days to Harry Potter (I forgot to check but Heather insists that this correct.)

My hair...ugh

I am sick of my hair. And I am thinking of doing something different. I want to go shorter on the length and throw some low-lights in. Here are some examples of what I want.Styling Medium Length Hairstyles picturesHairstyles for medium length hair
What do you think??

Yoga - Class #3

I am a glutton for punishment in the form of Yoga. Today I did my yoga class (three in a row!) Some of the guys from the office joined me today and I thought I would be distracted (mainly because I would be making fun of them.) But I kept my focus and had a great work out. The instructor focused on abs, hamstrings and hip spreaders. Yeah...ouch..

I learned a new pose today. It is called "The Frog" (and it is more painful than it looks)...

And the "Half Moon Pose."
HP_MAR06_Ardha_248.jpg
Where do you see the "Half Moon" in this pose? I don't see it anywhere :)

I am going to sleep well tonight!!

**On a side note, I just started a new series of books based on the "True Blood" series on HBO. I have not seen any of the shows (I am too cheap to pay for HBO) but it sounds like Twilight, but the "Adult" version. I shall compare Twilight's Edward and True Blood's Bill in future blogs.

Dress hunting is done

Heather has chosen her bridesmaids dresses. Yipee. Check them out:

Picture them in "Royal Lavender" as seen below...
Victorian Lilac
This is what it will really look like. (well at least my dress)

Breaking News!!

My brother has broken up with the She-Devil!! For non-identifying purposes, I shall call her Bellatrix*.

Bellatrix is an evil girl that started dating my brother about 4 years ago, while she was preggers (not with my brother's child - by the way.) She was 18 at the time and my brother was 22. He took on the responsibility as the dad for this child. This little girl is like his daughter. She calls him "daddy." He watches her and is a much more caring parent than Bellatrix.

Turns out, Bellatrix was doing horrible things behind my brother's back. Bellatrix would go out at night and he would stay in to watch her daughter. I won't go into details, but let's just say Bellatrix got pretty wild during these nights out.

So, my brother has finally had enough and left her. I know it breaks his heart that he will not be near that little girl but it is for the best.

I hope he has the strength to stay away. To be continued...

(*Name has been replaced...it's one of the evilest names I know.)

It's Friday....

TGIF. The weekend is almost here. I can taste it. I feel like this week dragged by sssllloooowwllyy...Did it for you? Also, I am SO SICK OF THIS RAIN. Thank-you. I needed to vent. Well here are my Freaky Friday mishaps.

If you are looking for a new car. Check out this sweet ride:

It's durable. Cheap on gas. It even has a WORKING horn!! It's no wonder that it OUTSOLD every other car in the U.S. during 2008.

So this past Wednesday night, I discovered WIPEOUT on ABC. It is very similar to MXC (Most Extreme Challenge) on Spike, but Americanized. At first, I thought it was going to be dumb, but I found myself laughing, quite loud actually. Luckily, Bill wasn't home to call the local mental hospital to wisk me away.
Episode 214
I would totally kick ass at this show, or make a complete fool of myself.  But it sure looks like fun. The commentary is great!

The new season of Bridezilla has begun on WE TV!! I am a fan of this show, yet I always find myself cringing away from the TV when the 'zilla does something horrendous.
In this week's episode, there was one couple in particular. Their names are Courtney and Dan. They look like a nice, quiet couple. They plan to have a "Clue-themed" wedding. It seems like a great idea for a couple that are into the theatrical arts. But no. The evil Bridezilla erupts and Courtney throws tantrums and calls her to-be sister-in-law fat. Throughout the episode, she is always saying, "Damit Dan! Damit Dan!"

I should have done a shot every time she said that because I would have gotten really drunk.
I think the best part is when they had their rehearsal dinner and the bride and groom dressed up.
Rehearsal Time! It's Batman to the Rescue...
Umm....The groom as batman and the bride as an annoying Hogwarts student?
Ummmm...yea....Moving on.

So there you go. I am almost ready for my busy week end. Got to go bridesmaid dress shopping and a grad party. Also, I am trying to finalize my date night plans with the BF.

PS - -33 days left until Harry Potter!

Yoga - Class #2

I had my 2nd yoga class today. I am finding that the planks and downward dogs are getting much easier. Today I learned a new position. It is called "The Pigeon."
It was a bit trying. But it is a good hip workout. Trust me, I am a tad sore.

This one made me the sorest of them all. This is "the Eagle" pose. Wow. My shoulders are sore. But no pain, no gain, right?

So all in all, I feel very accomplished. I always come out of the class in a relaxed mood. I wished I discovered Yoga earlier. It is such a great stress reliever.

Mental note for next time. Do not wear light grey pants EVER again. I got so sweaty all over my body, it looked like I wet myself!! Not very attractive. :)

Me: Stuff that is going on in my life

Well here I am. I survived another Monday at my work. How I hate Mondays.
So anywho, I have lots of stuff going on in my little corner of the world.

Over the weekend, I went dress hunting with Heather. Miriam and I dragged our poor children to this event with the promise of ice cream for good behavior (at least for my kid, Sophia is still too little for ice cream.)

We went to David's Bridal and they had a decent selection. I think Heather tried on 5 dresses. And then it came to decision time, it was between two dresses that she loved equally. So she tried them both on again and we paraded her around. She finally decided on this one:

Don't worry Heather, I won't show this to Don!!

This one either. :P

Also, we had some time to look at bridesmaid dresses. I got to be the model because Miriam had to leave.

Dress one: Can either be with or without straps.
This was Heather's Favorite

Dress two: Picture this in a purple

Dress three: This one would also be in purple.
I liked this one because it had pockets, but I did not like my backside in it.
Poor Billy is like, "Mom!! Please! Let's get out of here...NOW!"

So there was our adventure at David's Bridal. Bride's dress? Check. One thing crossed off of the list. There still much, much more to do. LOL

So I graded my son's behavior as a B+ (I really gave him a C+ because I took points off for the Indiana Jones type stunts that he was pulling, jumping from chair to dias and dias to poor innocent brides-to-be. Good thing he's cute.)

So yes, I will admit it, I graded him higher so we could get ice cream. (I REALLY wanted one.)

Happy Friday!

Hey kids! TGIF! Here are some things that I cam across this week! Enjoy!

Father's Day is Coming!

Have you decided what you are getting dear old dad for Father's Day? Look no further!

It is everything that dad needs! It's a reclining chair and a go-cart all in one. Dad may never have to leave his favorite chair. I would definitely win "Daughter of the Year" if I got this for my dad!!

Man decorates basement with $10 worth of Sharpies

My boss sent me an email earlier in the week titled, "Fun Art Basement." I clicked on the link in my email and I was directed to a 360-degree view of a man's basement in Kentucky. According to Kentucky.com the man, named Charlie Kratez, spent $10 in magic markers and Sharpies and used them t0 convert his boring cream walls into a massive work of art. He has everything from Winston Churchill to Rocky & Bullwinkle. Check it out at: http://www.kentucky.com/147/story/532854.html

And the award goes to...

As much as I liked watching Twilight win practically every award at the MTV Awards, the Bruno Best Male Performance presentation was a bit much. Or was it? As Bruno, an Austrian fashion reporter (aka Sacha Baron Cohen), flew through the air mumbling in his wacky accent, I thought, oh...this is going to end badly. He then lands spread eagle on Eminem's lap. A fight breaks out and then Zac Efron wins the award...it was all so confusing. A few days later it turns out the Eminem was in on the prank. Oh geez....

I think that Bruno kinda reminds me of Ben Stiller in Zoolander. What do you think?

As I mentioned before, Twilight won EVERYTHING (well almost) at the MTV Movie awards. I loved the movie. Don't get me wrong, but I honestly did not think that it was that great to win all those awards.
I also loved the fact that Kristen Stewart dropped her Popcorn Award on the ground. That's totally something that Bella would have done. (And I am not being catty.)

Oh well. Time for the weekend to start!! I got a busy weekend between wedding dress shopping and kid birthday pool parties! Wish me luck!

PS - 40 days until HARRY POTTER!! Yes, it is sad that I am counting down, but who cares?!?

YOGAAAAAAHHHH!!

Hey there. I took my first official Yoga class today. I got to get in shape for my friend's wedding! Yes I know it is almost a year away, but you got to start sometime, right?
Soooo....I decided to take a Yoga class at my gym. It's part of the membership so had nothing to lose. I figured I would be a pro because I mastered it on my wii fit.
I was so wrong.
I felt muscles that I never knew existed.
The instructor had me doing the downward dog:

And planks:

Almost 50% of the time. Man, my abs ache. So do my arms. Who 'am I kidding? I ache all over.
I will do it again next Tuesday.
I will tell you how I feel tomorrow.

For those that are just as obsessed as me...

I watched the MTV movie awards last night. All I have to say that the New Moon trailer looks AWESOME and I cannot wait until November. I will talk about the Movie Awards a bit later as it is a busy day at work for me. Here's the New Moon trailer. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did! :)
