Columbus Day Weekend

We had a lovely Columbus Day Weekend. It was relaxing, fun and very productive.

Tasks:
Cleaned house - Check.
Laundry done - Check.
Crafting - Check.
Worked out - DOUBLE Check!
Baked cookies for the Bake Sale at my son's school - Check!
Fixed broken pipe under my kitchen sink - CHECK!! (That's another story for a later time!)

I love long weekends! I get so much done and then there is always time to hang out with friends.

Here are pics from our visit to a local Cranberry Bog Farm:

Baby Uggs?!?

Yesterday, as I was browsing Ravelry, I came across a knitting pattern for a pair of "Suede Baby Booties," AKA Baby Uggs. I literally shrieked with delight when I saw these booties and decided that my friend's unborn daughter, Olivia, NEEDED them. Big time!

So last night, I got down to business and made one boot in a few hours (as I watched Big Bang Theory and The Secret Circle.) Here are my results:

I think that this is really the most stinkin' adorable project that I have ever knitted. It is easy and fast. My friend loved the boot (along with my co-workers) and requested that I make Olivia pink Uggs too! I wish that there was an adult size!!! ;)

If you want to knit these Adorable Baby Uggs you can find it on Ravelry or at Knit and Crochet Now! for FREE. (you have to sign up for a user name on Knit and Crochet's site - but they have a lot of free patterns — totally worth it!)

Peek-a-boo!

I SEE YOU!

Yes, I am still alive and well. It seems that I got caught up with summertime fun, but now I am back! I may not have been blogging but I have sure been busy!

My summer highlights include: Camping, lazing around in my pool, going to the Beach, seeing the animals the Zoo, trips into Boston, throwing a B-Day Roller Skating Party for my son, and having half days on Fridays from work. Now that summer is over - I vow to be better at blogging!

Aside from from all my adventures, I have been crafting up a storm! I have discovered the book "60 Quick Knits."

The projects are fast and easy - it only takes me a day or two to complete each project! Many of the projects are going to be Christmas Presents. Here are some examples:

Bobbles & Cables Cap
Made For: My Mom

Striped & Bobbled Hat
Made for: My friend's 3-year-old daughter

Textured Tam Hat
Made For: Unknown :)

I have also knitted many other items but they are secrets! I have two friends that are pregnant with girls (both are due on the same day!) I have been crafting away on those various projects but I cannot reveal them just yet!
