Foto Friday - A bit delayed!

I am a bit delayed with this week's Foto Friday, as it's Saturday! I was enjoying the sunshine too much and took advantage of my Friday off!

Yesterday, my son and I went to a local dairy farm/ice cream stand. I decided to bring my camera along to see if I could snap some pics of the cows. Here are some of the results:

This is a little Ferret that wanted to play with us!

It is Patrick!

After weeks of practice, my son's school talent show has arrived. He is doing the Sponge Bob Squarepants theme with two of his other friends. It was decided weeks ago that he was going to play the part of the pirate in the beginning song:

Are ya ready kids? Aye, aye captain!

So on Tuesday, Billy and his dad went to shop for said pirate costume. Billy some how convinced his dad that he REALLY wanted to be Patrick. There were no Patrick costumes available in the store! Or anywhere else! Needless to say, they did not purchase the pirate costume.

When they returned home empty handed, I was not a happy camper. Where the heck was I gonna get a Patrick costume on such short notice?! (The talent show was on Friday.)

After calming down and thinking things out, I came up with an idea - I would make the costume! (I majored in Art during college after all!)

The costume was due in three days. Could I do it? In the famous words of Barney from "How I Met Your Mother," "CHALLENGE ACCEPTED!"

So I got to work. Collecting cardboard, lots of pink paint and an IV drip of coffee, I was ready to go.

Here's my inspiration:

I found this picture at Coolest Homemade Costumes. I decided I was going to change a few things around, such as making Patrick's mouth the hole he would see out of and keeping the eyes intact.

This project was really easy to do and I had it finished in 1 day. (I work extremely well under pressure.)

Here is the basic shape of the head.

Painting Patrick in Pepto-Bismol pink.

Here is the final result:

I just had to try it on and dance around!

I love him!!

Bring on the talent show!

We have a guest!

My son made a discovery in his playhouse last week:

Apparently, this is not the first time, he has found a bird's nest in his fort. My son and his father have been at "war" with birds in our yard (we have a plethora of them!) The first time, about 3 weeks ago, my son found a nest in his fort and he threw it out on the ground (don't worry there were no eggs in it). The next day, it was back in the same spot - so my son removed it. The next day it was back! How did it get there? It was a mystery.

So Billy and his dad kept going back and forth with the "game" until one day, they witnessed the birds actually pick up their nest and fly back to the fort. (Determined little birds, huh?)

This is what I found in the nest recently.

I have issued a cease-fire to both parties.

Recent invitation project

Today my son is sick (he has a temp and a nasty cough.) So I chose to keep him home from school. That leaves me to to either:

A. Watch Sponge Bob Square Pant and Star Wars Clone Wars - over and over and over.

or

B. Blog

Since I have already done A, here I am. Check out what came in the mail a week ago. (Yeah I know - I should posted this earlier!)

My order from Vistaprint!

I love, love, L-O-V-E Vistaprint. As a designer, they make it so easy for me to upload my original artwork and then they handle the printing. The quality is amazing! The prices are even better!

These are invitations that I created for my son's 1st Communion in May. I blurred out some info - sorry guys, I can't invite EVERYONE! (But I will take pictures.)

Happy Thanksgiving

Today is Thanksgiving! I cannot wait for the Turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes and pie!! Mmmmmm!!

I am also looking forward to venturing out at midnight with all the other crazies in order to score a lot of loot on Black Friday! Yup. I am demented.

Here is what I am thankful for this year:

My boyfriend: We've been together for over 8 years. We got pregnant VERY early into out relationship and instead of running away, he stood by me. He takes care of me and I <3 him!

My son: He's the love of my life and my best friend. (But you can't be friends with your kids, so he won't know this fact until he's MUCH older.) Even though he tends to obsess over Stars Wars and Toy Story he's still my handsome man.

My Mom and Dad: They love me and forgive all my mistakes. They are always there for me!

Jeff (my brother): You drive me nuts and annoy me, but you also make me laugh. You have a great heart when you want to show it.

Cole (my cousin): Thanks for being an awesome shopping buddy and knitting partner! I love our nights together!! Don't tell anyone, but your my favorite cousin.

My Job: Even though I have a 20% pay cut this year, I am thankful that I still have a job. I love my job and I hope this economy turns around.

The Queen: Thanks for putting up with me all day long at work. You are the best roommate ever. You listen to my rants and help me sort my problems! :)

My dog Yoda: Thank-you to my little Boston Terrier. You can drive me nuts by stealing and chewing up socks but you are loyal to those you love. Thank-you for making me feel protected when Bill works late at night.

I am also thankful for my life and health.
